This Course is designed for persons who intend to become professional mediators, those who intend to enhance their communication and conflict resolution skills and professionals and executives. The 40-hour Course covers mediation concepts, procedures, skills and relevant mainland and Hong Kong legal knowledge. Through various interactive learning activities such as group discussion, real case sharing and simulated cases (role play) exercises, students are hoped to have better mastery of different mediation skills in order to prepare for being a professional mediator.

Accredited mediators of Hong Kong Mediation Centre or Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited who are interested in converting to be the International Accredited Professional Mediators of MHJMC and intend to deal with cross-border commercial mediation cases are welcomed to enroll in this 15-hour Course, which covers the mediation model pertaining to the Diversified Dispute Resolution Mechanism in the Mainland and cross-border mediation. This is to let mediators in Hong Kong better adapt to the cross-border circumstance, where the judiciary systems can be different, and their already-equipped mediation knowledge and professional skills can be further enhanced and reinforced, at the same time learning to handle cross-border commercial disputes.

This Course is designed for managers or employees at all levels, private practitioners and mediators who want to expand their practice, frontline officers with responsibility for resolving complaints from customers and anyone who is interested in managing internal organizational conflicts more effectively. The skills acquired from this Course are transferable, both to aspects of their work life and private life. Please note that this Course is not designed for trainees who plan to be qualified as General Mediators or Family Mediators accredited by the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited (HKMAAL).

Mediators, Solicitors, Barristers, In-house Legal Consultants, Senior-Level Management and Executives, Financial Controllers and Compliance Officers are welcomed to take this Course to learn more about Dispute Resolution Advocacy i.e. the techniques of presenting and arguing a client’s position, needs and interests in both adversarial and non-adversarial ways. This Course will equip students with the skills needed in dispute resolution advocacy and maximize the settlement benefits for clients in the dispute resolution process.
